Beacon Press launched its blog, Beacon Broadside, to coincide with Banned Books Week.  The blog’s inaugural posts included an interview with renowned author Lois Lowry whose books, including The Giver, are challenged frequently.

The American Library Association (ALA) offers an extensive guide for celebrating Banned Books Week.  ALA also hosted a "Read-Out" in Chicago; click here to view a short film clip.

Random House offers an online First Amendment First Aid Kit which includes resources for dealing with challenges and advice from challenged authors such as Judy Blume and Robert Cormier.  In New York City, Random House handed out 1,000 copies of Judy Blume's frequently challenged title, Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.

The National Coalition Against Censorship launched a Book Censorship Toolkit for teachers, students, parents, and administrators involved in book challenges.  The guide includes a sample letter and discussion of common objections to books.  NCAC also offers a Resource Guide to Free Expression in Schools.
